• Charmaine Jean-Paul

    FOUNDER and CEO

I consider myself to be a champion of justice and inclusivity. After years of working closely with children and marginalised groups, I decided to harness my warrior spirit to create 'Rebel Led Training and Consultancy.'

Over my career, I've developed a toolkit of strategies to make this happen. With a history working with looked after children, I spent time working in conjunction with various institutions; including inner London charities, Newham Council and the Metropolitan Police. On completing a BA in Education, Culture and Society, I've continued to delve into the intersection of race, class, gender, and educational outcomes before completing a Secondary PGCE.

In my years as a teacher I've led inclusion events, empowered student governments, and transformed curricula. My role as a BAME Coordinator allowed me to conduct research that reshaped the use of ethnicity data. I learned to craft custom resources for diverse learners, engage large audiences, and foster safe spaces for staff.

My journey started with a realisation that great training sessions were inspiring but often fell short of driving real change. Teams would read books, take symbolic steps, but professional practice improvements remained elusive. Organisations were hitting brick walls, and their members were the ones bearing the brunt of it. That's when 'Rebel Led' was born.

Creating Rebel Led allows me to take all these experiences and meet people at those walls, break them down, and push beyond knowledge and empathy. I'm passionate about dismantling barriers to create truly inclusive environments.

Join the Rebellion: I'm excited to share these strategies with you, because there's so much more to be done for genuine inclusivity. Let's work together to drive lasting change and build a more just world.

    DIRECTOR of PROJECTS

I am a mother of 3 teenagers and have been working with diverse marginalised and oppressed groups in London over the last 15 years. I have an educational background in teaching and education, including a MEd in Inclusive Education as well as Youth and Community qualifications.

My passion for community work began when I started meeting other parents in East London and recognised the need for support, guidance and education services that were accessible and relevant to the issues faced by women and families in our community.

This led to me founding my own family support organisation in Newham, working with families facing a variety of adverse experiences often related to their intersectionalities of race, gender, faith, and income deprivation. The services we offered included awareness workshops on topics such as criminal exploitation, sexual exploitation, domestic abuse, foster care and well being. We also provided faith and gender sensitive counselling, networking events, community classes, youth clubs, 1:1 family support for those in crisis, advocacy within the school and social care systems and more. Through these we were able to encourage families to be open to new experiences and opportunities resulting in better futures for families and young people.

My career choices have been driven by the need to make a real change to better people’s lives and enable them to find small amounts of justice; including working in charities supporting trafficked women, young people experiencing Criminal and sexual exploitation, and looked after children. In addition to this I have led projects exploring the link between identity and wellbeing in schools, and supporting parents with awareness of the digital lives of young people.

I see myself as part of the communities I have worked within; the issues and challenges affecting the families I work with and their young people often are the same as those I am facing with my own family and children. I have just as much to learn from those around me as they have to learn from me. None of us are immune from the problems faced within society. I believe through listening, understanding eachother’s perspectives and sharing knowledge communities and individuals can be empowered to create real change. At Rebel Led we are positioning ourselves at the forefront of this needed push for change.

Join the Rebellion: Let’s work together to drive lasting change and build a more just world.

    DIRECTOR of OPERATIONS

Empowering Through Adaptive Education: Being neurodiverse myself, I've faced the challenges posed by conventional learning environments. My academic journey taught me the value of tailoring education to the individual.

At 'Rebel Led Training,' I channel my extensive background to lead operations as COO. Each program and engagement we roll out is crafted with meticulous attention, ensuring they resonate deeply with our audience.

My friendship with Charmaine began during our time at Goldsmiths, studying our BA in Education, Culture and Society, and together, we're reshaping the landscape of education.

After graduating I ventured into a number of professional roles. I helped launch a venture-funded startup for the DACH region. My passion for content creation led me to establish several German-language websites, each with its own thriving community.

Starting my own B2B marketing business provided me with skills in organising and executing high-profile events for dedicated readers. Here strategic vision and adaptability were further refined, leading to impressive growth metrics year on year.

My core belief is simple: every individual, regardless of their background or neurodiversity, deserves a learning experience tailored to their needs. With 'Rebel Led Training,' I'm spearheading initiatives to design educational environments that celebrate individuality.

Join the Rebellion: Together, let's break the mould of traditional education, innovate training methods, and champion every learner's unique journey.
