Make no mistake…we are not for everyone. We do believe that black lives matter. We don't want death to men, but the patriarchy can literally do one! There needs to be accessibility for every ability. Being able bodied or neurotypical is not a qualification in superiority or a license to be arrogant. If you are queerphobic, xenophobic or in any other way, humanity deficient we hope you get that looked at asap. And there's nothing feminist about being a TERF.
It’s important that anyone using the phrase “wokerati” knows they will be uncomfortable with what we have to offer. But boy oh boy do you need it the most.
The Rebel Led Training team have spent a long time working in training and education.
We have sat and talked with people in various fields and industries. The most consistent pattern is that the people are resistant to change. Even when the chips are down and the stakes are high, we resist doing the hard work that is needed to do better. We want the results but will compromise on genuine impact for the sake of convenience. And we get it.
We are a species that seeks out congeniality and affirmation. Reimagining the world in any other way can be daunting. Especially if the world that we live in meets our needs. But if we’re asked to change to meet the needs of others, to take stock of how much we need to learn, it can trigger fears. Fears of questioning our own limitations. Fears of losing security. Fears of losing our place at the table.
But if we unleash our rebellious spirit and stop resisting change, we can begin to imagine what the world would look like if we did things differently. Actually implemented changes that benefit the community. The WHOLE community. Surely it’s worth it.
